Football Team

Here's a photo of a Boston high school football team, circa early 1940's. Two of the men have school letters on their sweaters, a big T. I knew one of the men in this photo, but not well enough to know what high school he attended. He was born in 1926. If you see yourself or one of your relatives in the photo, let me know. They all look so circumspect! ;D

I like #21's unmatched laces.

BTW, quail eggs taste exactly like chicken eggs. Actually, they taste even better (like chicken eggs used to taste).

I agree, lol. I noticed the laces and a few other oddities - I wondered if anyone else would.

Okay, I like chicken eggs, so I guess I can try Quail eggs. I'm still a little scared of sushi, though.

My guess is that the school is Boston English.

and get rid of that damn word verification if you want me to comment. :)) it's a pain in the ass!!

After reviewing the play I noticed the letter T on the jersey. I would guess this may be Boston Technical school.

The architecture of this building looks like that of the facade of the old Mass Art at the corner of Longwood and Brookline which is now BIDMC

Thanks Rich. I'll get rid of the word verification pronto. I thought it might be Boston Tech ... but, do you know where Tech was in the 40's? The guy I knew in the picture was born and brought up in East Boston.

Hi Beantown. I don't think it was Boston Tech. In the 40's they were still known as "Mechanical Arts High School" or something like that.

My guess for the school is Boston Trade HS. I don't even know if Boston Trade is still in existence; I think it used to be in Dorchester near Dot High.

Thank you Clueless, that could be it. I seem to vaguely remember Boston Trade being near the Fenway / Hemenway area back in the 60's and 70's.

We need a couple of really old guys to look at the picture to figure it out, lol.

Boston Trade use to be right in back of Wentworth. Near the Greek church I think it's Parker St??. It was a great school until the 70's when the schools went through forced busing. Now that building is owned by Wentworth I believe -correct me if I'm wrong.

LOL, Rich, you are right - they do!
